Review:- Mac Glamour daze holiday collection 2012

I think I did really well this past christmas and did not purchase too much from this collection

Items purchased
Devine desire quite coral exclusive set
Primped out eye look bag sensual peach
innocence frost lipstick
in the limelight pearl nail lacquer
Small vanity blush
Easy manner blush

Mac innocence l/s -I love peachy coral lipsticks theyre so pretty to look at and also very complimentary on my skin tone
In the limelight n/p Im obsessed with minty nail polishes and have a crazy collection that i will share with you very soon

Sensual peach kit features an eyeshadow duo in mulch which is a frosty chocolate brown with gold shimmer in a velvet finish and is macs top selling eyeshadow (last time I checked) I already had this in my mac 15 eyeshadow pro palette but I dont mind having another in this duo, since I love neutral brown beige duos.

The other eyeshadow in this duo is dazzlelight which is a champagney light baby peach in a frost finish. I've never used these two colours together before but I like the effect it gives I use dazzlelight all over and the mulch in outer corner of the lid and on the outer v it gives a perfect day to night look. this duo reminds me of my favourite chanel duo of the moment chanel sable emouvant 37 although they are not exactly the same but you can get a similar finish.

Opulash is an OK mascara, I already had it and was using it at the time I made this purchase its nice for volume and thickness but i did not feel it was what I need as I have voluminous, straight, short stubby lashes I need length and curve more than anything. so Ive back to mac my old one and will use this in the future.

I was glad to get stubborn brown powerpoint  eye pencil in this kit as I like the pigmentation and intensity of the powerpoint pencils I have a few in the shade feline which gives good colour and works on the waterline however these pencils do not have great staying power the colour quickly spreads down so these are best used blended out with a cotton bud or brush.

I have quite a few of the limited edition short brushes from mac but do not mind having another 275 brush as they are versatile to give colour on the lid or intensify the crease or even use as a highlight if you are starting out and looking for one mac eyeshadow brush I suggest this one or the 239 brush.

It was nice to get the bag in this collection however I do agree with Temptalia when she says that the bag should atleast fit the items that came in it.

Devine desire quite coral kit
this kit was an exclusive edition and only available on www.maccosmetics.co.uk
It contains
In a heartbeat cremesheen lipstick which is a soft peachy coral shade abit more coral than shy girl which is abit more beigey peach.

Born to love blush in a frost finish this is like style blush but without the gold.

Its nice that mac put in a little 129 brush but i do feel that this brush is not as good quality as other 129 brushes that I have had in kits before but its not totally horrible by anymeans infact its very soft so nice to use on my sensitive skin, this brush works well with all powder products such as blush, bronzer, loose and pressed powder

Pure flattery is a very nice peach coral lipglass  and works perfectly with in a heartbeat and innocence lipstick.

I really like the mac technakhol liners although theyre not as pigmented and as soft as the powerpoint pencils they're great handbag items as they do not require sharpening and they also qualify for back to mac. Photogravure is described as a brown black colour and you can see in the swatches that it is darker than stubborn brown. so this is a great shade to have if your always changing from brown to black eyeliners.

The kit comes with a nice case that has a mirror and a pocket and a removeable plastic insert that holds the makeup items, I plan to use this as a jewellery box, which i may use for travel also currntly im using a chanel purse as my travel jewellery case.

Products Swatched
Born to love blush
In a heartbeat l/s
pure flattery l/g
Photogravure e/l
Innocence l/s
dazzlelight e/s
mulch e/s
stubborn brown e/l

The first thing I grabbed from this collection were these two beautiful blushed in
Easy manner is a pretty peachy pink but it shows up more baby pink on me similar to well dressed blush.

Small Vanity is a neutral almost plummy blush with a brown beige undertone great on medium tones and to enhance the contours of the cheeks.

Ive also swatched easy manner and small vanity next to born to love for comparison purposes.

I love these products Im getting alot of use out of these products and do not regret purchasing any of them
theres probably still some items from this collection floating about on the mac website in the goodbyes section and in the CCO's.

What did you buy from this collection ?

NOTD:- Leighton Denny Between Blue

Blue has always been my favourite colour because I love all shades of blue its such a beautiful colour it reminds me of the sky and the sea, I also love jeans and denim and can rock it in so many different ways.

This is one of leighton dennys latest shades from his spring 2013 collection and this particular colour reminds me of the mid shade from the les jeans de chanel colour. unfortunately I missed out on Chanel coco blue so I didn't buy the other two shades from the collection in a tantrum.
Leighton denny products are available from John lewis and QVC

This colour is quite opaque in one coat and dries in a few minutes however i do feel that the Leighton denny colours are easy to damage within an hour or so similar to post nail polishes

I am wearing  OPI nail envy as a base coat, 2 coats of between blue and one coat of seche vite top coat.

I have alot of nail posts coming up as Ive pickedup some amazing shades from leighton denny, OPI, nails inc, Chanel, and Dior.

What do you thing about this shade ?

NOTD:- Ciate Bon bon

Dont you just love the packaging of the Ciate nail paint pots?  I actually have abit of a 'bow' obsession, I think bows are just so cute and adorable, I like bows in my accessories and in my jewellery on my clothes, on my presents...... I think you get the picture.

My hands are still quite weak and therefore its still a miracle that I manage to paint my nails at all, let alone get a neat application. Im wearing two coats as one coat of Ciate formula tends to apply quite streaky, and you can probably see I have a booboo due to the nail polish still being damage-able 15-20 minutes after application. I usually prefer to do my nails of the day without top coats as some top coats such as the one that I mainly use , Seche vite tends to alter the colour.

I love love love this shade, its so hard to describe but Ill have to say that bonbon is a sweet, creamy, milky, baby, taupe, and I thank Marie Claire for having this freeby with the magazine.

I think this shade is suitable for absolutely any occasion and any season it so light that its almost pastel like, but being a taupe shade makes it very universal, and being a neutral shade it goes with everything.

Which Ciate nail pots do you have or even similar shades from other brands?

NOTD :- Revlon Fuchsia Fever

Revlon nail lacquer in fuchsia fever no 040

Its been two months since I've been able to paint my nails but today I decided I jut had to apply this colour it is the most gorgeous pink ever, I fell in love with t when it was displayed with other revlon nail polishes at the checkout I immediately picked it up and had to have it.

My hands are still uber weak and shaky after the accident (see previous post for details) so the application is clearly somewhat messy but I dont care I think the fact that I've applied it myself feels like an achievement :) I think I should have probably started off with an OPI nail lacquer for its pro brush or a nails inc for its formula which are probably better brands for people with dexterity issues in their hands.
(one coat of lacquer over OPI nail envy no top coat)

Im somewhat addicted to fuchsia warmer pinks at the moment, im loving all thats pink which is funny because this has been a very orange summer for me so moving on to the pinks this autumn.

I've also pictured the revlon colorburst lipstick in fuchsia no 030 which is such a gorgeous vibrant pink. Im usually not into such bright colours but I'm really like them for the moment!

Available from Boots and Superdrug
What do you think about these shades do you have them or something similar ??
What are you loving right now ?

Royal wedding inspired patriotic nails, my thoughts fotd and info

Ok so like the millions of people world wide, I too watched the royal wedding of Prince williams and Katherine Middleton.
What an Amazing Cinderella story!!
A poor/common girl meets and falls in love with a prince and they have a grand wedding for the land     (. . . and world to see)
and live happily ever after

My expectations of the wedding was for it to be very british and very classic and ofcourse high end the best of everything or rather the best of british!
I expected to see Kate middleton in a very classic and elegant wedding gown and I was not wrong or dissappointed at all.
Her jewellery was very classic and elegant perfect for her complete outfit
The perfume used by kate middleton as well as the prince williams was also not just standard
both wore fragrances that were custom made to suit their individualities and to complement each others fragrances so as not to clash each other but to make a complete fragrance when the two were put together.
Kates fragrance is said to be classic whilst prince williams fragrance is more sporty and masculine.
The bottles again are very classic and made to compliment each other, kates fragrance is in a white bottle whilst willians fragrance is in a black bottle.
The perfume was created by the perfumer that has been used before by the royal family.
If you are feeling let down at not being able to duplicate her perfume do not worry
the fragrances are rumoured to hit the high street soon -so watch this space
She looked amazing and classic
its nice that even the day before the wedding she went to pick up her own laundry and has been spotted out driving herself.
It is said that she has done her own makeup herself
(since I did the same for myself I really cannot hold this against her)
its such an important day its sometimes better to be safe than sorry
and go for a tried and tested look
and was also rumoured to have been shopping at the lancome counter and picked up three items
-hydra zen moisturiser, hypnose mascara, artliner liquid liner.
I have to add that these are three things that I do use which you can find by typing in the names and search previous face of the days and hauls.

REVIEW:- Sally Hansen nail polish

Sally Hansen Diamond strenghth no chip nail color
in 04 Royal Icing
This is the first time I have tried a nail polish from Sally Hansen
Im mostly a OPI and Nails inc nail polish snob

I had the urge to try something new
so I decided to try Sally Hansen Nail color
the light colours were mainly pearly and had a blue tinged mother of pearl finish which did not interest me as you can buy thee from everywhere now
this colour appealed to me as it is the lightest baby pink and has the tinyest silver shimmer
its called royal icing and reminds me of icing on a cupcake

I put on quite a thick layer and allowed it to dry for about 5-10 minutes whilst I tweeted away on my mac book

The polish dried to a thin layer so I know its really adhered to my nails
I dislike it when some lacquers dry thickly because then they are prone to knocks and get indents in the colour and you get little hairline scratches
I do have a small mark on one of my nails but I was typing away so I cant blame the polish as it is a tiny mark on only one nail.

I love nude nails and nail polishes because you just look very polished and complete and well groomed, and with lighter colours mistakes are less visible which is important for me as I am a busy mum on the go. My all time favourite is a french Manicure and even if I dont have time and patience for that atleast I can use colours such as this.

I hope you enjoyed this

I never would have guessed it but . . .

OPI have collaborated with SHREK!

I did tweet just a few days ago (from user raspcherry) to say that I have heard that this will happen. And, today it has.

I think the Blues, and purples bright and pastel shades are gorgeous and the green shrek colour remids me of my MAC sweet and punchy eyeshadow from MAC to the beach collection, feel free to do a search for my look of the day based on and named after this shadow.

French Manicure

When I cant decide on what I want on my nails, I go french!

French nails look classic, elegant, smart and sexy all in one
You dont have to use super expensive products either

What I used
Nail Envy base coat
MAC vestral white on tip (LE from HK collection)
Seche Vite top coat

Beauty on a budget dupes
Sally hansens Nail base/any growth formula
Barry M nail paint in white for tips (£3)
Barry M 3in1 basecoat, hardener and topcoat (£3)

Im suggesting Barry-m because their nail paint won Instyle Magazines beauty award for best budget nail polish brand.

you can also buy affordable french manicure kits by
Bourjois
L'oreal

TIP- Always have a french manicure for a job interview
although I cant guarantee you the job but you will definitely look well groomed and polished and it tell the interviewer that you made an effort.

OPI Teeny Bikinis South beach mini collection

These are adorable 3ml bottles of genuine OPI polishes, I love these alot because Im never going to use up my huge collection of 15ml bottles of OPI
the colours are great too -apart from the lightest shade 1 coat is enough
as well as the three colours I got mini sizes of the nail envy, Rapid dry top coat, avoplex oil and chip-skip
(all of which, I do have in the full sizes also)

Im not sure which shade is which because the bottles did not come individually labelled
  • Done out in deco (lilac?)
  • Suzi and the lifeguard (sheer pink?)
  • Overexposed in southbeach (plum?)
Which is your favorite shade of OPI?

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge -My collection, a review and swatches.

Ive always had a special place for cream products, they're usually my goto in a rush, as a busy busy mum. And as a summer product. On...
