Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge -My collection, a review and swatches.

Ive always had a special place for cream products, they're usually my goto in a rush, as a busy busy mum. And as a summer product. One product I've used so much over the years is the Bobbi brown pot rouge which is literally a cult product and a best seller. My usual shade is the Powder pink which is a neutral pink shade which probably works for most skin tones but most complimentary of fairest to medium tan skin tones. Its very easy to use no brushes or sponges necessary, small and compact to carry. And thank goodness they revamped the packaging it now incorporates a small compact with its own mirror which can fit into the smallest of handbags, and clutch purse. The old original packaging gave a lot more product but in a separate lid and tub type of packaging which was less convenient but more economical, at the time of posting I believe these retail at £22.50 and are available from so many sores and online.

The formula is basically that of a creamy but pigmented lipstick that gives an almost glossy but dewy glow. You only need to use the most sparing amount, literally you dab one or two fingers in rub against the two fingers of your other hand dab onto your cheeks and then blend, blend, blend away.
it doesnt dry to a powder formula so its very ideal for dry or mature skins almost moisturising.

Bobbi Brown talks about her inspiration behind the product being her mum, who like my mum would use her lipstick on her cheeks to add some 'rouge' blush.

But I really feel it works on any skin type, mainly I've discussed its use as a cream blush so far not to forget that its actually a lip and cheek product.
Again for the lips I lie to dab this onto my lips with my finger to a give a very done-undone look kind of a just bitten type stain I don't have to worry about getting a perfect application its that easy to use.

Recently Bobbi brown has launched products for the pretty powerful campaign which is a charity that helps to get women into work, which I think is fabulous, Im all for supporting causes for women, children and animals. I have two pretty powerful pot rouge compact in pretty powerful 1 and pretty powerful 3 I sadly missed out on number 2.

Powder Pink has been my long time go to product , I'm glad they added new shades my new favourite is the calypso coral which is a pretty peachy coral shade. The pretty powerful shades are both neutral cool pinks that have more of a mauve shade number three is more cool toned and number one is the least pigmented of the lot and I think that calypso Cora is the most pigmented, I also bought the shade raspberry which I gifted to my mum as she loves a more brighter purple toned lipstick but I don't have a swatch of that, there are a few more shades that Id like to try but the size of my makeup collection doesn't. warrant me to buy any more shades. Im currently considering going on a makeup spending ban. This probably means Ill end up buying a new bag :)
so its all win win for me.

I have swatched the Bobbi brown pot rouge shades for you.
L-R Calypso Coral, Pretty powerful I, Pretty powerful iii, Powder pink.

I would love to know if you're using the Bobbi brown pot rouge and in which shades.
As always, I'm here to answer any of your questions if I have missed anything, or you would like me to review anything for you.

Which is your favourite Blush or cream blush?

Kevyn Aucoin foundation balm

Hello my lovelies.
Long time no see.
It literally has been the longest time ever!
But let’s not talk about that right now if you want I can dedicate a whole post to that later and answer all of your questions.

Eid Mubarak to all those who are celebrating or not.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the brand Kevyn Aucoin they have some iconic products and they have recently had so many new product launches of which the newest is the foundation balm
I’m really excited to try this product and I’ll be honest it launched a couple of days ago and I’ve only had mines a couple of days. I only found out on a whim that the product had launched and sweeped it up immediately.

At the time of purchase there were no reviews or blog posts available as the product literally launched  that day. So there were no swatches or information available on shades etc. And at the time of publish  this is the first review of the Kevyn auction foundation balm online! and this is what has bought me back to the blogosphere. -hello!

I have a whole bunch of Kevyn Aucoin products, mainly complexion products including the sensual skin enhancers in a whole bunch of shades sx02, sx06, sx07, sx08 - I’ll probably dedicate a post on this another time.
The sensual skin enhancers are somewhat difficult to work with, when I saw the products listed on www.beautybay.com and www.spacenk.com
I knew I had to have this product because it’s a medium buildable to full coverage foundation, it comes in a range of shades that I was so confused about which to buy online but thank god I chose well.

The foundation comes in a light weight plastic packaging which is very makeup bag friendly it also comes with its own Kevyn Aucoin makeup brush which makes this product such a steal! I have a similar Chanel foundation that came in a pot that is made of glass which is not purse friendly either to carry or to buy yes I’m talking about the sublimate which costs about £100.
Back to the Kevyn Aucoin the foundation itself is solid but turns to liquid when you touch it and it does work well with the included brush. The coverage is good, you do have to use quite abit to get a good full coverage which is easy to do and the finish is not completely matte it’s kind of a satin velvet finish which looks really nice. The wear time seems quite reasonable on the test day I wore it out for a few hours ad the foundation held well but I had creasing only where I’d used the sensual skin enhancers as concealers.

For now I’m really liking this foundation and I’m likely to use it on days where I want more coverage but it’s now in my everyday makeup bag ready to use.

I purchased it in the shade medium 06 because it was described as neutral undertone which is what my skin shade is and I was scared to go too light or dark but luckily the shade 6 was practically perfect for me as a comparison the sensual skin in sx06 was the closest to my skin and I use it for concealing it is a tad lighter than me if I’m very picky but that’s why it’s the best concealer shade for me.

I confidently used this balm foundation as my makeup for Eid after swatching it and finding it was a good match for me
I also used with it  the Kevyn Aucoin creamy contour kit and powder contour palette as well as the foundation powder to set the concealers and foundations.
I also used the new Charlotte tilbury eyeshadow palette in  walk of shame on my eyes
I really hope that this post helps you and I really look forward to blogging for you all and answering your questions.

Swatches :- Loreal True match blush

One of my favourite drugstore brands would have to be L'oreal, and amongst their best products is the true match range of products.
So much so that the true match foundation launched in my teens , it was one of my goto products, back when I didn't have a crazy big makeup collection and I even used the true match foundation on my wedding day. Back then I also really liked the Loreal blushes, they were in a different range at the time they weren't labelled true match at the time. The shade I had way back then was sandalwood pink and then rosewood.

I have swatched the following shades left to right
Sandalwood pink, True Rose, Old Rose, Nude Pink, Nude Brown, Rosewood.

These currently retail for £7.99 in the UK
the new compacts also contain a mirror, and some compacts contain a brush, theres also some new shades not switched above.

Have you used any of thee boreal true match blush?
Which is your favourite drugstore blush?

Januarys new year beauty subscription boxes 2015

Its still quite early in the month, and I have received three of my four beauty box subscriptions, the 4th is a new one that I will leave as a secret until it arrives at least. But I could not wait to share my first three beauty boxes of the year with you.

Incase you are unaware of beauty box subscriptions, they're usually surprise sample boxes of beauty products that you receive every month until you cancel membership or you can buy your subscription out right and pay ahead for a set amount of time for said box.
the monthly direct debit usually works out the easiest for most people.

you will be able to find previous months and years boxes reviews on this blog incase you're wondering what previous boxes may have contained.

so without further ado I give you January 2015's first beauty boxes of the year, yay!

Hello fresh discount card

Initially I was probably most impressed with my birchbox, and I feel that its contents are probably the most appropriate to the theme.

With the you beauty box you're able to hand pick your samples so I'm ok with this box and actually happy to try out Merumaya products as I love their brand mission.

Initially i was very disappointed with the glossy box, the selection seemed random and uninteresting at first, so far Ive only properly tested the toner which luckily has impressed me on first usage it was rather pleasant to use. Ive received a lot of brown liners and I think this mememe brown eyeliner will become my new brow pencil as its pigmented but a little harder than I like on the inner rim and waterline for my liking, Ill just remind you that my HG eyeliner is the Chanel eyeliner and nothing touches it IMO.

Ofcourse I will keep you updated on my thoughts on these products in days to come however if you have any particular questions or future blog post requests please feel free to ask, I love hearing from you all.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post

Love ya

Benefit Puff off eye gel to help smooth the look of puffs

Im sure everyone has noticed that my biggest beauty problem is probably my puffy eyes. I always, always, always seem to have puffy eyes now and I'm not sure why. I have tried practically every product available for puffy eyes over the years including some extremely expensive vey high end products, which I will probably review shortly for you if you want me to.

This post however is for benefits new Puff off instant eye gel.
I've had it for almost a week now, I managed to order one for myself pre-launch online.
I will do a more thorough review shortly but heres my first thought on the product.

Packaging
Ofcourse all of benefits products come in pretty unique packaging, this eye gel also comes in a quirky tube with a little iron shaped foot to smooth out puffs. The tube itself is really dinky and comes in a small cardboard box containing a leaflet.

Product
Puff off comes in a 10ml size which is a third less than a standard eye product which are normally 15ml so that was quite disappointing, the gel is a light baby pink white sheeny shade if that makes sense lol. the formula to me is more silicone than gel so this will be great for disguising lines rather than puffiness, the iron shaped tip is quite cooling and refreshing though I haven't experienced a completely deputed eye yet and mines are the puffiest!

Price
At just over twenty pounds I wouldn't say this is cheap especially as its only 10ml in size, but if it does make my puffy eyes 'puff off' over a longer term period I would say its worth it, however I will have to keep you tuned for those results as I'm still waiting myself as I've not had immediate results sadly.

Availability
The puff off will be available shortly at all of Benefits retailers soon, I think it will be at the end of the month or the start of february 2015 in all of the usual Benefit retailers here, here, here.,here and here.

I have used all of the traditional methods for puffy eyes and I've not had any spectacular results using any of cold spoons, cucumbers, tea bags, arnica gel, gel eye masks, if you have extreme puffy eyes and you have found a product that works for you please do share!! I'll love you forever!! I promise!!

As always thank you for stopping by,
I love you all

The offer is open throughout the UK and internationally.

I really like how Spacenk have included this huge A2 sized product reference sheet that has all the information you need about the products that are included within the goody bag.

Most of the products are new to me and I'm really excited to try out these new brands.
The best thing about sample sizes are that not only are they great for handbags and travel but being bait of a beauty butterfly I tend to switch up my products all of the time getting bored really quickly and eager to learn about the latest products.

Im sure that you are interested to know which products I purchased in this deal so I have put i a pic of them too. I noticed they are mainly cheek products.

Nars contour palette in olympia
Becca blush in flower child
Kevyn Aucoin mini cheek  cream contour palette
Hourglass ambient lighting trio palette (pre-order)
Strivectin tightening skincare kit which is currently on sale price

Can you tell that I've really been into contouring?

They're all really pretty shades!

Because its my Birthday month this kit could not have come at a better time for me and I was anticipating its arrival for a while, so I placed my order yesterday morning and received mines this afternoon just in time to share it with you all, so that you can grab yours too!

Do share your Space NK favourites with me.
