my Everyday makeup look

This is quite similar to the previous FOTD look that I did but I thought that Id do this anyway as I am such a neutral makeup person.

Products used
Philosophy supernatural foundation in beige all over face eyes lips
Clinique all about eyes concealer in 02
Benefit eye bright pencil in inner corners and inner rim and under brow arch (eyes)
Mac paintpot in bare study lasline to brow line
Bare minerals foundation in medium beige
Loreal carbon black linear intense liquid liner in my signature kitten flick
Mac blush in prism in a contour like stroke on cheeks
Mac lipstick in myth dabbed on lips
Mac lipglass in 5N from warm and cozy collection
Loreal double ended mascara primer used as lash base
followed by Mac zoom lash mascara on upper lashes only to add drama

I did not line or use mascara on lower lashes and lower lashline a on a day to dy basis it can be a nuisance as I have to cook etc and it runs down my face especially as my eyes are extremely sensitive to onions :(

I hope you enjoyed this look

Baby essentials Haul

Coz even babies have beauty routines!
and their toiletries occupy our bags!

Im super careful of what I use on my kids
not just because babys have delicate skins anyway, but my kids have inherited my super sensitive dry eczema prone skin.
And also that Im such a snob when it comes to the things I use on myself that its only fair to use similar quality products on them.

Bubby my 2 year old can get quite colic-y so I use Avent bottles they are about £7 per bottle but they are made in a way that prevents windy and reflux problems in babys, -Does it work? I really think it does I picked a pack of 3 for £5 bottles for her and they just leaked and gave her colic.

I also love Infacol drops -the packaging is perfect because its a dropper and so you dont need a spoon to feed it to baby, and you can give it after every feed and its so mild its suitable from birth, whereas gripe water you have to wait for 3/4 months. (not pictured)

Bubby is a complete pampers baby not only is it a good quality but on special packs (see sticker on above pack)  you are actually paying for a child in the third world to have a vaccine, pampers pays a portion from each special pack to UNICEF the amount for a vaccine for a baby.
we all take vaccines for granted but babys out there can survive baby illnesses and injurys and have a chance to life.

Simple wipes are really good, they are not just dermatologically tested as most brands advertise but they are actually also paediatrician approved! Me and bubby actually share these they are great for makeup removal, I have super sensitive skin so I can get slight stinging on the eye area.
but its also great to use to wipe your makeup brushes clean on. and they cost only £2 also the simple baby range now features the cute me to you teddy bear.

Simple talc is fragrance free so gain its really good for sensitive skins, you can also use this on yourself on your body to absorb excess oils and sweat etc, and also a light dusting on the roots of your hair for people with greasy hair, also you can use this to set your makeup as most makeup powders are talc based anyway and again this item only costs £2.

Im new to this nuby sports drink bottle
I bought it whilst it was on offer at boots, but Im rather pleased with myself, its a no spill type of bottle which is fantastic for mums with babys as babys always spill everything so its one less thing to worry about!

Bepanthen cream is so good but it is expensive -about £4 for a tiny tube as above, I usually buy the bepanthen wipes but even they are about £4 for something measly like 12 mini wipes, the whole point in these wipes is that they are impregnated with baby nappy rash cream, the cream is good for travel in the tube or in the wipes, but generally for at home use Ive always sworn by Sudocrem, Ive recently also tried out the simple nappy rash cream which is also good and so is the johnsons one.
ohh nappy rash creams can be used on sores or rashes on adults as well.

other products the baby uses are shared products between me and her such as liz earle, decleor, loccitane, E45, Aveeno and body shop.

I hope that this post was interesting and helpful

feel free to request anything specific

The no-makeup makeup look for yummy mummys

Really quick and simple looks for yummy mummys
or any other busy or lazy girl on the go

1- Cleanse, tone, moisturise
I suggest a wash off cleanser, the water rinse is toning, apply an all in one moisturiser with atleast spf15
I recommend Loreal wash off cleanser to match your skin type, and olay 7 in 1 moisturiser

2- Cover
If you require coverage its much easier time wise to apply foundation all over your face
including eyelids and lips as this will also prime your lips and eyes and neutralize discolourations
for a sheerer coverage use a stippling brush slightly dampened with a small spritz of water or any hydrating mist
add concealer as and if needed
I used prescriptives full coverage foundation in level 03

3-Cheeks
Use a cream bronzer to contour cheekbones I used mac to the beach cream bronzer
add a cream blush or highlighter above the bronzer on the cheeks
I used Mac cream colour base in improper copper

4-Eyes
apply a shimmery cream shadow from lashline to brows -if desired
I used Mac painpot in bare study this makes you look more awake and fresh
you can line your eyes with a light eye linersuch as brown, nude, pink, or white to match your skin tone
to open up your eyes even more
I used a pakistani kajal to line upper and lower inner rim for a sultry eyes look
Also use a taupe/brown eyeshadow to fill in brows this same shadow can be used in the crease in a windscreen wiper motion to give a natural enhancement to your crease and make you look like you have big eyes
I used Smashbox brow tech in taupe
I used zoomlash mascara on upper and lower lashes

5-Lips
I applied a touch of Mac myth lipstick followed by a chocolate shade lipglass in 5N

Carry your favorite powder and lipgloss for touch ups to go

I hope you liked this tutorial
let me know if you have any requests etc

Cream blush swatches

Im not so bothered about swatching foundations on the jawline
especially as I have some melasma/ mask of pregnancy
but its a great place to swatch any blush -even in a shop as its easier to swipe off
and you get a good indication of how the shade suits your natural colouring

Bobbi brown pot rouge powder pink 6,
Mac to the beach creme bronzer,

Review:- Camera samsung PL150 updated spec now for sale

Samsung PL150 RRP £200
purchased for £200 selling £160 inc of insured P&P

So when I was going crazy looking for a new camera, this is one of the new cameras I purchased
yes, thats right, one of, I actually bought a few
I love my gizmos and gadgets but I often get bored after a while if its not perfect in my opinion
this camera has so many features my regular fuji does not have
I love the fact that its both pc/mac compatible
it charges the whole camera without you having to pull out the battery and charge the individual battery
and this has HD video and 12mp photos
and has a special beauty shot where you can wake up and take a pic of yourself fresh out of bed
where you have dry and/or oily patches, dark circles, redness, scars, large pores etc
and you just click the button and it will take the picture of you with an immaculate complexion and it will make you look airbrushed and photo shopped on the actual original picture
the camera also has a secret hidden secod screen on the front
which can enable you to take self portraits where you can actually see yourself properly
the screen also has a baby shot mode where a cartoon can be switched on to make babies look directly at the camera

Smart and compact featuring Samsung's revolutionary Dual Display and also with HD movie recording.

Dual Display
The Samsung PL150 features a dual LCD display (large 3.0" on the rear and a 1.5" display on the front). Brilliant for self-portraits, you can frame the image with the camera pointing towards you. As well as this, the camera body is designed to tilt back by 7 degrees when stood up, taking away the need for a tripod. When using the front LCD, you can easily access the top panel for modes such as Self-Portrait, Couple Shot and Children.

Smart Auto 2.0
Automatically finds the best exposure and focus setting depending on your shooting conditions. Includes Object Tracking so your subject stays in focus. Can be used in still or movie modes.

HD Movies
The Samsung PL150 can record 720p HD movies and has HDMI connectivity (with optional cable). Its H.264 recording file type gives four times as much recording time than would be possible using Motion JPEG.

5x Optical Zoom with Wide Angle
The 5x zoom lens covers the equivalent of 27-135mm focal length on a traditional 35mm camera. The wideangle setting is especially useful for photographing large groups, indoor photos or tall buildings and wide panoramas.

Dual Image Stabilisation
Uses a combination of optical and digital stabilisation to doubly counter any camera shake.

Perfect Portrait System
This mode uses the ideal settings to give pleasing and flattering portraits. It employs Smart Face Recognition which can detect up to 20 faces for correct focus and exposure. You can also give priority to faces that have been regularly photographed in the camera's album.

Smart Filter
Make your own creative effects including Miniature, Vignetting and fisheye.

Smart Album
Once your pictures have been taken the PL150 can let you organise your images by Type, Date, Colour, Week, or Face.

REVIEW:- MAC full coverage foundation

This is macs most heaviest duty foundation
ofcourse I had to try it out for myself

This foundation is solid hard
its even harder than studio tech foundation, and I thought that was hard.
the full coverage foundation is really pigmented
and you are at risk of looking like you are wearing a mask
I strongly suggest you go up a foundation shade on this foundation so that you dont look ghost like
I would say if I had to be 100% accurate I would be NC26 if it existed
NC25 is a touch light and NC27 is extremely pink so I often happily use NC30 or NC25 I even have mineralize satinfinish in NC40 to give me no makeup glowy summer tan look!
as my goto no nonsense shade as its  darker in winter and about right in summer or with some faux tan
The foundation has no spf although its so thick its going to create some sort of barrier but I always advise using atleast SPF15 all year round I use spf 25, 40, 50+ in summer
This foundation is best suited to people like me who have serious pigmentation and scars
if you only have a couple of marks use a concealer as this foundation will not be worth it as it will give you a cakey look

APPLICATION
best applied with a wet disposable sponge
as a brush will leave teeny tiny microscopic little hairy bits on the actual foundation
or apply to your face with fingers in small light dabs and smooth out with a damp brush
I say damp because you will get a smoother finish rather than a cakey look
or you can use this as a concealer on your face not on the under eyes area as using thick products will give you life long eye bags -A bag for life !! supermarket style!

under eye area should only be covered with special under eye concealer unless its a one off very special occasion ie your wedding, school, college, or uni picture days after exams etc

I cant remember exactly how much this costed but its a huge 28g which makes it totally worth it!

let me know if you've used this or if you know any other great coverage products that you feel that I should atleast try

Haul:- MAC pro palette eye shadows

I was feeling abit greedy and decided to get a bunch of shadow refills in pro pans to add to my palette collections
they are all shades that Ive had my eyes on for a while but ended up delaying

I took pictures at the time
but did not list the shades at the time -silly me!

Off the top of my head I remember the following shades
Chrome yellow
Orange
Brick red
Pink freeze
Passionate
Swiss chocolate
Embark
Patina
Shale
Club
Contrast
Bottle green
Shadowy lady
Sketch
Indian ink

lol, thats almost enough to fill a palette!
its a funny combo so dont worry they all went into different palettes
a few of the above colours I already had in seperate pans or as part of a kit
I just wanted them in palette form as well :)
like I said I was feeling greedy and felt like I deserved abit of a treat

Thanx for stopping by x

back to mac time

MAC has a back to mac scheme
where you can return 6 containers to mac in return you will receive any lipstick of your choice from the permanent line or possibly limited edition in normal packaging
ie not viva glam or ltd ed packaging from a prestegeous collaboration such as hello kitty or liberty of london.

I ofcourse use mac products and benefit from the back to mac scheme
I usually forget to blog about my back to mac transactions
but if you like this post I will try to feature my back to mac in future
this time round I got a new mac lipstick in the shade freckletone
last time (a few months ago) I got myth lipstick

The items I returned are 2 studio techs 1 in nc25 and 1 in nc35 my normal and super summer tan shades
glitter liner ltd ed from hello kitty collection
EyeLiner in graphblack
Lipliner in creamola
gel liner in blitz and glitz

Im expecting my next back to mac to be in January/February 2011

let me know what you have back to mac 'ed
and what you have got
and if you have any future recommendations for me

REVIEW:- Cargo contour palette

This palette is such a good idea
it is a 3 in 1 blush palette
A complete cheek solution in 1 compact with a huge mirror.
you would think more companys would be making compacts like these
this item is not available in the UK which is such a shame
but it is available to purchase online here
http://www.cargocosmetics.com/products/cheeks/contour-palette
it costs $34 in the USA
and is available in 2 shades
one is Malibu - as reviewed below
the other is Monaco which is more coral

This palette is in shade contour 01 malibu
I think its named after  that whole malibu pink barbie theme
the compact holds 3 pans
a contouring shade
a blush
and a highlighter shade
The reverse of the compact has full instructions printed on it as well as a face map to show you exactly where and how to apply each shade
so you can never forget if you leave this at the back of a drawer for months and lose the packaging
I love that it has a huge full size mirror

The compact is the same size as an ipod touch and has a similar pretty smooth metallic finish and looks very sleek.
The three shades in this compact are really fine but hard pressed it is not chalky or dusty in the least
you only need to apply a small amount each time
each shade also has its function embossed on it so you can (initially) know what you are doing without turning it over
I feel that the contour shade on here is slightly on the red side for my liking but it still works ok
the pink blush in the malibu compact is just like MAC's best selling and most famous shade in pink swoon
the highlight shade is not shimmery either its like a Bare escentuals mineral original foundation in that it has a slight iridescent or like MAC MSF natural

I was sent this product for review
and this is my personal opinion

REVIEW:- Too faced naked eye palette v too faced natural eye palette

I bought the natural eye palette less than a week before the naked eye palette was released
the naked eye palette on the right, is more warmer shades such as golds and bronzes
where as the naked palette on the left is more neutrals and taupes
the natural eye palette is for people who love their sparkly or bling looks where as the naked is more for people who prefer smokey looks

although any person can use any palette for their own personal preference and tastes just as a guide

for those of you who like things in MAC terms -
Naked is best for skin tones nw/nc upto nc35
Natural is best for skin tones nw/nc from nc35 and above

and in general skin tone terms
Naked is best for the fairest skin tones to medium skin tones
Natural is best for medium to deepest darkest skin tones

and celebrity examples
naked would be keira knightley, anne hathaway, emily blunt to cheryl cole
natural would be aishwariya rai, jennifer lopez, kim kardashian, tyra banks, to Iman.

I think shimmer eye colours such as golds and metallics look amazing on deep brown asian and black  afro caribbean skin tones just because of the way darker skins absorb light.

I suggest nude pinky beige lips and pinky and neutral based blush with the naked palette

I suggest bronze and peach toned blush and lips and you can really go out on the lips with this palette, red lips look amazing with gold eyes especially for the christmas season and asian festivals such as eid, diwali and weddings.

The palettes are great for those starting in makeup as well because there are three look-cards in each palette, hidden in the lid -although I would have preferred a mirror!
Urban Decay are really good at providing mirrors in their palettes and I feel that this is one place where too faced is really slacking

'to too faced if you are reading this I strongly suggest mirrors in your compacts it really makes life easier for us busy girls always on the go!'

ofcourse you dont have to follow the looks you can make your own combo's which I always do!

I hope you found this review helpful
