FOTD:- Featuring Mac Marilyn monroe legendary and pure zen and swatches

I never could have imagined that the mac marilyn monroe collection could be so successful.
But ofcourse I wanted my share of the collection,  unfortunately it was very late before I managed to get to my local Mac counter at my local Debenhams store. And most of the items (that I wanted, anyway) had sold out, boo hoo. but thats another story, because i'd already put in an order for the Lipstick in 'pure zen' and the blush in 'legendary' from selfridges and these are definitely two of my most worn items from the whole collection.

on my face
Mac pro longwear foundation 'nc30'
Mac pro longwear concealer 'nc30'
Clininque double face powder 'beige'
Mac Blush 'legendary'

On my eyes
Ysl smoky eyeshadow collecter palette (white, silver, black glitter)
Mac fluidline 'blacktrack'
Mac lash primer
Mac mascara 'opulash'
Benefit brows a gogo

On my lips
Mac l/s 'pure zen'

Both legendary and pure zen work together in perfect harmony to create a very peachy nude look, and look equally amazing with a nude eye look or a dramatic smokey look, I have kept my look quite light and easily wearable for everyday.

Pure zen is a repromote from a previous collection and so has the only name throughout the collection that has nothing to do with the life of Marilyn Monroe. My personal thoughts for the reason for this is that the pure zen lipstick is such a similar shade to the blush as you can see in the swatches above.

Mac Marilyn monroe pure zen lipstick swatched on the lips.

I have purchased all of the lipsticks and the two blushes as I feel that this is all that i need from the collection, I did not want to go too mad.

What did you get/miss from this collection?

FOTD:- A Mac Pro LongWear look

This is a very quick and simple daytime look that is based on mainly Mac pro longwear
products and featuring the new new Mac office hours pro longwear Blush in blush all day !

On My Face
Mac Pro Longwear foundation nc30
Mac Pro longwear concealer nc30
Clinique Double face powder 'beige'
Mac Pro longwear blush 'blush all day'

Eyes
Mac pro longwear eyeshadow in 'sweet satisfaction'
Mac fluidline in 'blacktrack' on upper and lower lashline
Mac mascara

Lips
Gale hayman liplift
Mac pro longwear lipcreme in 'overtime'

Mac pro longwear eyeshadow in 'sweet satisfaction'
I already had the pro longwear eyeshadow in sweet satisfaction from when it was first launched it and fell in love with it instantly, its a very neutral eyeshadow and its somewhere in between mac all that glitters and mac satin taupe, both of which i own and love and now I love this more. its very smooth and pigmented in fact I like to apply this with my finger onto my eyelid and I have already made a dip into this eyeshadow which is rare for me.

Mac Pro longwear Blush in 'Blush all day'
Again, I instantly fell in love with this blush in the same way as i fell in love with the eyeshadow, its a very neutral colour that is a tad peachy, which is very complimentary on my golden beige/nc30 skin tone, so this was a must have for me. I also loved the theme of the mac office hours collection-The story of my life, stationary and cosmetics! if you opened my work drawers amongst snacks you would find a combination of all the stationary you could need as well as all the makeup you could want.
Infact even at home I often find stationary items creep into my makeup area and my beauty items on my desk -lol!

Mac pro longwear lipstick in 'overtime'
again I picked this up with the original pro longwear lipcremes, for me this was the best option, its a ery light pink, and is very pigmented and great for covering up pigmented lips like mine. I dont think that these lipsticks should cost more that the normal lipsticks though theyre not that special! this lipstick is like the pink sister of mac 'myth' lipstick. I dont like the packaging of these lipsticks if you bring the lipstick up you have ti push it back down with your finger which is uber-annoying! and its the same story for both shades that I own from this range, the other lipstick is 'good to go' a very orange lipstick that ive already featured in my holiday makeup bag post.

Most items available from Debenhams,  House of Fraser

I hope you enjoyed this post
thanx for stopping by.

FOTD:- Its all peachy for spring

This spring seems to be extremely peachy keen for me
I hope you enjoy thins look that features Sleek's latest avoir le peche limited edition collection that I picked up a week ago and ive already used it twice

Products used

Face :- Mac studio fix foundation nc30, Smashbox concealer light under eyes, Sleek pan tao blush, max factor translucent loose powder.

Eyes:- Mac painterly paintpot, Sleek Avoir le peche paraguaya eyeshadow palette, redstone inner half lid, perisimmon outer half lid and crease, stone outer crease, sandstone as high light on browbone.

Lips:- Revlon colorburst lipstick in peach, Bodyshop peach lipgloss.

I have just found this sleek promotional ad online which shows the whole collection I have the palette and the blush sadly the lip product had sold out however I will keep my eyes out for it.
I realised when I found it the look I like to do with this palette is quite similar

I think this palette goes well with my rimmel lipstick in bikini rose as well as my body shop peach coral lipstick and gloss I bought a while back which you can find else where on my blog also my revlon colorburst lipstick in peach.

Even though Ive gone peach, coral and orange on eyes lips cheeks I dont feel its too matchy matchy because of the gradient in tones and shades.
Ill try to update this with a picture from my camera as this one was from my webcam because I really wanted to share this look with you all

I am loving this nail polish its by 17 which is boots affordable younger brand, A lipgloss had caught my eyes and you make a purchase and you get another similar but lighter pink lipgloss and this nail polish and a waterproof mascara -which Im on the lookout for because I rarely wear waterproof.
17 is an affordable dupe of no7 cosmetics I feel the quality is the same but colour wise there is more variety where i feel no7 trys to stay more sophisticated.

The nail polish is pink grapefruit and it is the perfect coral nail polish for this spring.
Im rocking it on my fingers and toes and its looking fantastic with my glitzy sandals.

I think its about £3 so you dont really have alot to lose, one coat gives plenty of colour and I always seal off with seche vite top coat.

Its not a secret I love love love palettes

which is one reason why I love mac shadows I really appreciate the flip top packaging

The no-makeup makeup look for yummy mummys

Really quick and simple looks for yummy mummys
or any other busy or lazy girl on the go

1- Cleanse, tone, moisturise
I suggest a wash off cleanser, the water rinse is toning, apply an all in one moisturiser with atleast spf15
I recommend Loreal wash off cleanser to match your skin type, and olay 7 in 1 moisturiser

2- Cover
If you require coverage its much easier time wise to apply foundation all over your face
including eyelids and lips as this will also prime your lips and eyes and neutralize discolourations
for a sheerer coverage use a stippling brush slightly dampened with a small spritz of water or any hydrating mist
add concealer as and if needed
I used prescriptives full coverage foundation in level 03

3-Cheeks
Use a cream bronzer to contour cheekbones I used mac to the beach cream bronzer
add a cream blush or highlighter above the bronzer on the cheeks
I used Mac cream colour base in improper copper

4-Eyes
apply a shimmery cream shadow from lashline to brows -if desired
I used Mac painpot in bare study this makes you look more awake and fresh
you can line your eyes with a light eye linersuch as brown, nude, pink, or white to match your skin tone
to open up your eyes even more
I used a pakistani kajal to line upper and lower inner rim for a sultry eyes look
Also use a taupe/brown eyeshadow to fill in brows this same shadow can be used in the crease in a windscreen wiper motion to give a natural enhancement to your crease and make you look like you have big eyes
I used Smashbox brow tech in taupe
I used zoomlash mascara on upper and lower lashes

5-Lips
I applied a touch of Mac myth lipstick followed by a chocolate shade lipglass in 5N

Carry your favorite powder and lipgloss for touch ups to go

I hope you liked this tutorial
let me know if you have any requests etc

FOTD:- my Quick signature neutral look for girls on the go

Sorry about the pose guys I look, like, super serious!

This is a really quick look suitable for anyone in a hurry and on the go
Whether you are a student, career woman or a yummy mummy
Products used
Nars sheer glow foundation
Garnier tinted eye roll on
Mac msfn medium dark as bronzer all over as cant be arsed to cover blemises etc individually
Cargo contour palette in 01 malibu on cheeks
Cargo essential eye palette
Shavata brow pencil in dusk
Rimmel liquid eyeliner
Bourjois Black khol pencil -smoked on lower lashline and inner rim
Mac viva glam cremesheen gaga lipstick

I chose these products for this look as they are quite easily attainable yet affordable and easily dupe-able!
(most of the products)

NARS SHEER GLOW
this is a light medium coverage foundation for me i treat it like a high coverage tinted moisturiser
GARNIER TINTED EYE ROLL ON
It works, it neutralises under eye circles and its cooling but you cannot massage with this or you will have product overload -in a hurry you can take the concealer on your lid as a cooling eye base
MAC MINERALIZE SKIN FINISH NATURAL
these are mineral based pressed powders so people are less likely to be agitated by them, they are low coverage and give your skin a satin like finish as they are not matte
CARGO CONTOUR PALETTE FOR CHEEKS
This palette gives you a bronzer like colour to contour with and a blush colour as well as a highlight colour, the shades are quite neutral and a real no-brainer to use so you dont have to consider your shades in a rush (full review coming soon)
CARGO ESSENTIAL EYE SHADOW PALETTE
all neutral complimentary colours, all in one place again a no-brainer product
SHAVATA BROW PENCIL
dual ended pencil by the harrods brow queen -Dusk is my perfect match its like mac brun shadow
RIMMEL LIQUID EYELINER
super cheap available everywhere, precise thin brush in traditional dip pot, decent black shade lasts a long time.
BOURJOIS KHOL CONTOUR
in ultra black, its a really good black, great payoff and pigmentation however it spreads like fire!
MAC VIVA GLAM LIPSTICK
I try to buy makeup where contributions are made to charities such as aids and breast cancer
this is a light pink creamy lipstick great for alot of looks it does not need gloss over

I forgot to mention mascara Ive recently been trying lash enhancing mascaras so far I have tried Loreal, Cargo original and Cargo extreme and recently Revlon.
I find it saves time to use an enhancing product as I get some natural length

Also I was sent the Cargo contour palette for review -full review coming soon!

FOTD:- Mac birds and berries and De-Vil look

YES! The good news is that I got Birds and berries! the bad news is that I had to pay twice the original price for it thank you very much miss Amiras beauty blog!
I originally didnt get it because I have MAC teal pigment and its quite similar and the pigment is the most amazing teal and nothing can beat it, but, its a pigment so its loose and messy and I dont use it as much as Id like to for this reason, rspecially as as I usually have my now two year old tugging at me whilst im doing my makeup and asking for 'lipgoss' and 'liptik' she even has her own baby products on my dresser table
so Im glad Ive got this in pressed form as I can use teal more often -yay -vote for me!

Anyhow I have been wanting Mac coppering eyeshadow for a while now and as the new MAC venemous Villains collection had a dupe for Coppering I chose the limited edition instead its called De-vil when I got devil home and opened it I immediately thought Mac birds and berries from the Liberty of london collection and yes I do think that they look Bee-you-tee-full together! perfect partners, almost a marriage made in heaven
