Kevyn Aucoin foundation balm

Hello my lovelies.
Long time no see.
It literally has been the longest time ever!
But let’s not talk about that right now if you want I can dedicate a whole post to that later and answer all of your questions.

Eid Mubarak to all those who are celebrating or not.

I’m sure you’re familiar with the brand Kevyn Aucoin they have some iconic products and they have recently had so many new product launches of which the newest is the foundation balm
I’m really excited to try this product and I’ll be honest it launched a couple of days ago and I’ve only had mines a couple of days. I only found out on a whim that the product had launched and sweeped it up immediately.

At the time of purchase there were no reviews or blog posts available as the product literally launched  that day. So there were no swatches or information available on shades etc. And at the time of publish  this is the first review of the Kevyn auction foundation balm online! and this is what has bought me back to the blogosphere. -hello!

I have a whole bunch of Kevyn Aucoin products, mainly complexion products including the sensual skin enhancers in a whole bunch of shades sx02, sx06, sx07, sx08 - I’ll probably dedicate a post on this another time.
The sensual skin enhancers are somewhat difficult to work with, when I saw the products listed on www.beautybay.com and www.spacenk.com
I knew I had to have this product because it’s a medium buildable to full coverage foundation, it comes in a range of shades that I was so confused about which to buy online but thank god I chose well.

The foundation comes in a light weight plastic packaging which is very makeup bag friendly it also comes with its own Kevyn Aucoin makeup brush which makes this product such a steal! I have a similar Chanel foundation that came in a pot that is made of glass which is not purse friendly either to carry or to buy yes I’m talking about the sublimate which costs about £100.
Back to the Kevyn Aucoin the foundation itself is solid but turns to liquid when you touch it and it does work well with the included brush. The coverage is good, you do have to use quite abit to get a good full coverage which is easy to do and the finish is not completely matte it’s kind of a satin velvet finish which looks really nice. The wear time seems quite reasonable on the test day I wore it out for a few hours ad the foundation held well but I had creasing only where I’d used the sensual skin enhancers as concealers.

For now I’m really liking this foundation and I’m likely to use it on days where I want more coverage but it’s now in my everyday makeup bag ready to use.

I purchased it in the shade medium 06 because it was described as neutral undertone which is what my skin shade is and I was scared to go too light or dark but luckily the shade 6 was practically perfect for me as a comparison the sensual skin in sx06 was the closest to my skin and I use it for concealing it is a tad lighter than me if I’m very picky but that’s why it’s the best concealer shade for me.

I confidently used this balm foundation as my makeup for Eid after swatching it and finding it was a good match for me
I also used with it  the Kevyn Aucoin creamy contour kit and powder contour palette as well as the foundation powder to set the concealers and foundations.
I also used the new Charlotte tilbury eyeshadow palette in  walk of shame on my eyes
I really hope that this post helps you and I really look forward to blogging for you all and answering your questions.

New in :- Benefit little love potions

Im loving these gorgeous goodies from Benefit in dinky little travel sizes

Since I have such a huge makeup collection its not economical for me to have full sizes of all the products I like at all times.
sets like this make my life so much easier so in this way I can eat my cake and have it :)
I know thats really cheeky but its true!

The set includes the following items
 -Its potent eye cream
-High beam highlighter
-Posie tint stain
-Stay dont stray eye primer
-That gal brightening face primer
-The porefessional face primer
-Watts up highlighter
-Hoola bronzing powder
-Hoola lipgloss
-Badgal lash mascara

(alot of highlighting and brightening products!)

These products are going to make great handbag/travel products for me, they also make great trial products if you are unsure of buying the full size as the set is just under £30 which is near enough the amount for one benefit product which are usually around the £20 mark give or take.

Currently I have my eyes on the complete Benefit flawless range which I have used items from in the past but im thinking of getting the whole kit and kaboodle - the Flawless primer, foundation, fake it concealer, and flawless powder. But Im just procrastinating since Im putting myself on a shopping ban as I need to use up current items before I allow myself to buy anymore products for now.
(I'll see how long that lasts!)

Which benefit products are you loving right now?

Getting ready with BareMinerals ready products

A few months ago I started suffering from Acne and decided to equip myself with some makeup that is good for my skin and is quick and convenient for me to use, of course I had to choose bare minerals.

I will do some skincare posts regarding this soon, also.

Bareminerals ready  boost adrenaline rush in gold compact with gold blush brush QVCuk
a quick and convenient three in one product for the cheeks

Bareminerals Ready foundation with full flawless brush John Lewis
Very highly pigmented, much more than the loose foundations, good coverage and spf20

BareMinerals Ready the truth eyeshadow quad and slant eyeshadow brush John Lewis
very pigmented neutral smokey colours

I also have some larger kits but i wanted smaller convenient compacts which only had the products that I wanted/needed!

Do you have/love any bareminerals ready products ?

Bourjois happy light foundation is back with friends and family!

Bourjois happy light foundation currently available for £7.99 normal RRP will be £11.99

This must be one of the most best high street/drugstore product launches if not the best ever!
im so excited that bourjois has bought back happy light foundation, this was my foundation of choice until they discontinued it.
It applied nicely, looked fresh and non mask light, had spf15 (I think)
and came in a tube so great for travel.
but that must have been about 16 years ago!

I think the formula has changed somewhat and no longer has spf protection, the packaging has clearly changed and now has a pump dispenser, I think the tube was better although I love pumps but tubes are easier for travel and I think every brand should have one tube choice available for travel purposes.

The coverage is quite light, and luminous, alot lighter that the other foundations pictured namely healthy mix foundation and healthy mix serum, I think that the 10 hour sleep effect offers the most coverage.

There are two happy light primers, Im normally dry skin but recently ive had acne, and now, oiliness so ive opted for the matte primer which works quite well, ive used it under the foundation and mixed with the foundation. I still want to try the other primer also.
The healthy light concealer only comes in two choices I chose the more yellow toned one no 21 ivoire

You can see the other bourgeois items that I have purchased myself to try, I try to avoid buying high street makeup as it is so accessible and I build up a huge collection very quickly and when I have clearouts I tend to give away bags of new high street makeup free to family and friends which is actually hundreds of pounds of product, but its much easier than parting with products from Chanel and Dior for example.
So a few years back I banned myself from buying drugstore makeup for this reason, but the high street has really changed and some products now are matching their high end competitors

I have pictured some of my bourjois collection, I do have some more products, but they can wait until future posts, funnily the one item I do not have is my all time holy grail item which is the bourjois liquid eyeliner, and I have seen they have a newer version of it which looks fab, it has pink packaging and a rubber on the top too- yes a rubber, where makeup meets stationary lol!

Products pictured
Bourjois delice de soleil bronzing powder no 14 olive tanned skins
Bourjois blush no 41 healthy mix
Bourjois eclat mineral radiance no 05 dore
Bourjois healthy mix correcting concealer no 52 medium
Bourjois healthy mix foundation no 53 light beige
Bourjois healthy mix serum gel foundation no 53 light beige
Bourjois 10 hour sleep effect foundation no 74 beige
Bourjois happy light  foundation no 52 light beige
Bourjois happy light matte serum primer
Bourjois flower perfection translucent smoothing primer
Bourjois happy light ultra covering concealer no 21 ivoire
Bourjois healthy balance unifying powder no 53 light beige

Swatches:- YSL touche éclat highlighter and under eye concealer

I had a question about the Yves saint laurent touche eclat  so i'm putting up some new swatches

Touche eclat in no1 has been a universal and iconic product for many years and has not been wrong for anyone its a creamy pinky salmon shade but its sheer and not opaque which is why every skin colour has used this pen.

(above I have swatched shades, 1, 1.5, 2, and 3)

I would use any of these shades considering that ive used no1 for so many years however my shades of choice would be 1.5 which is yellow based and great for covering up redness and sallowness or no 3 which is close to my skin tone and a true peachy salmon shade perfect for use as an under eye highlighter concealer for my nc25-nc30 bobbi brown warm beige skin shade.

I also realised that other people may benefit from these swatches other than people of my skin colouring so ive also swatched shades 4.5 which is similar to nc30 great for nc30-nc40 foundation shade and ysl shade 5 which is great for nc40 and above there are a few more shades in the range and I love how true to natural skin tones they are.

In case you are wondering I am shade BD40 in the ysl touche eclat foundation (I was mis-sold BD50 by the SA)

YSL touche eclat available here

A look inside my august Jolie box

Inside my August 2012 JolieBox

Dr bronners Magic all in one soaps
I received three samples of these soaps, currently ive put them aside for when I travel.

Jolie song card
A downloadable credit for the song on the card
did you download yours, did you like this song??

Phil Smith dry clean revitalising dry shampoo
My hair and scalp tend to be on the drier side so I dont use these products plus I feel that they are abit of a gimmick as you can just use baby powder to absorb any oil on your hair roots.

Cut by fred
I didnt get this product, let me know if youve managed to do anything special with yours. to me its just a ribbon, and I tend to not use ribbons as they dont provide me with the hold my voluminous hair requires. I am thinking friendship bracelets and jewellery though!

So susan lip cushion
this came in very pretty packaging that was alot bigger than the lipbalm so I thought I was going to find something big, but its a nice small dinky container with a pink tinted glittery lip balm

So susan wide awake palette
Susan is the lady behind Jelly pong pong, Im not sure if shes sold that business but shes back using her own name now and with similar products.
This palette contains two cream makeups to use as camouflage one is an illuminator for under eyes and the other is a highlighter to use on cheeks and other parts of your face that you would want to highlight.  It also contains a brow kit however the brow powders are actually shimmery shades of smokey plum and moss green, I've not been tempted to use this palette yet i may save it for gift time as i feel it may not be for me which is a shame as I like the idea of it even though concealers and brows are a rare combination.

Do you use any of these products ??

Review:- Garnier tinted Anti dark circles roll on

First thing I have to say about this product is 'Holy Grail'

I was in love with the original garnier anti dark circles roll on which is the one in the green roll on tube
it is basically a liquid gel like eye product and the metal roller ball provides a cooling massage and actually squishes down puffy eye bags and soothes
the main active ingredient is caffeine

My only concern with the original one was that as i am a daily makeup wearer I was worried that my foundation, concealer, powder etc was contaminating the solution in my original roll on
and i could 'imagine' the nasty gunky formula inside

But since this is now tinted I dont have that concern anymore :)

I use the light shade which works fine for me I think the other darker shade would work fine on NC 35- nc45 skintones and I really hope Garnier read this and create a truly dark one for women of darker colour above nc45 as nobody should be without this product.

The roll on gives light coverage on dark circles, so if you have very dark circles you will need a proper concealer, I have medium dark circles so this works ok for me and better with a highlighter as well such as ysl touche eclat, but my main concern is eye bags and puffiness which is the HARDEST thing to cover up since it is a real problem as puffiness is 3d and not just aflat  discolouration .

I still use an eye product under this and I do go over this with concealer and highlighter but this is mostly out of habit and also to try to cover up my puffiness -which usually fails anyway lol

Have you tried this ?
which eye products do you use ?

Review :- Loreal True match powder compact

This is my favourite high street or drug store pressed setting powder
I will do a post on my favourite loose powder soon too

My favourite high stree foundation is probably loreal true match and this powder works amazingly with the matching foundation but Ive used it with many other brands foundation and it works great

It is very fine, and it is pressed really hard so you dont get that nasty dusty texture
if you like the Revlon colorstay pressed powder you will not like this one

I might do a review on the Revlon one too if anyone is interested

The packaging is nice and you can clearly see the shade through the lid
and the mirror is on the other side, it comes with a foundation-sponge
which ive used in emergencys but i preer to apply this with a big fluffy brush

My shade is golden beige, beige dore, W3, which would work for anyone mac shade nc25 - nc30 but not for nc35 and above
the W in the w3 means that this is suitable for warmer shades with yellow, golden undertones

This powder really helps to set foundation and is really good to carry for touchups on the go
it is so finely milled that you would have to use alot to get a cakey finish
which is a good thing since I do have dry skin
It does give a very light to medium coverage so will need concealer, and/or foundation for blemised skins

Although this cost about £10 I cant remember the exact price
this powder will last you months so it is economical and budget friendly.

This is a product that I have repeat purchased so I definitely recommend it
and i think the true match powder is more colour friendly that the maybelline matte powder which can look cakey and leave a white cast on asian and darker skins.

Which powders are you using and loving ?

XOXO

Review:- Smashbox High definition healthy FX foundation

I seem to have been quite loyal to this specific foundation and have been through about 4 bottles since its launched, I have already done a video review on this but felt I should share this product with my blog readers too x

I think I love everything about this foundation except for the lid because its abit flimsy and breaks easily

My bottle is soon to finish as I use this product quite alot its one of my HG, no fail, keep coming back to foundations

SMASHBOX SAYS :-

Now you can have flawless skin from the inside out. Our revolutionary HIGH DEFINITION HEALTHY FX FOUNDATION is an oil-free, weightless formula packed with anti-aging, revitalizing, and firming ingredients that work overtime to provide cellular nutrition for skin.
Vitamin-packed, oil-free weightless foundation that provides buildable coverage with a flawless finish. UVA/UVB SPF 15 offers sun protection, vitamin C fights free radicals, and new cell-energizing Ribose renews the appearance of skin. Our unique, patented bio-delivery system gives you time-released moisturization and firming benefits that last all day. Skin is refreshed and revitalized for a flawless future.

The bottle is a standard 30ml bottle
it costs £28.50
which is a so-so type of price, Ill pay it but Ill have an internal toddler type temper tantrum -just joking!

This foundation and other smashbox products are available in the UK from Debenhams in store or online

Texture
This foundation feels like a souffle - not a mousse a liquid souffle
It has spf 15 uva and uvb protection which im not really bothered about since I love additional protection and ive not noticed an overly whitened face in flash photography but having now said this i think i will investigate this further - but this might just be because I always follow with a powder foundation and bronzer

The foundation also has a tendancy to seperate but you are supposed to shake it before each useage to overcome this

The packaging is also an air tight airless pump
so its super hygienic too

I love to use this on special occasions because I feel it does make me look good in pics as above.

The coverage is medium buildable and in the past i have worn this doubled up with an extra layer and I dont feel caked -but you have to do it right !

My colour is L3 or L4
the pictures show L3

I love the way smashbox has named the shades its simply broken into 4 categories
fair, light, medium , dark
and each colouring group has numbers 1-4 (roughly)

I have alsed m3 in the past as a tan but now i just use Mac mineralize nc40 satinfinish or Chanel tan de soleil for this purpose

I definitely recommend this foundation I know its abit pricey
but if your budget does not go as far as £28.50 maybe try revlon hd foundation which is £10-13?

I hope you found this helpful

XOXO

YSL touche eclat for medium to darker skins

I was checking out the new YSL touche eclat highlighter pens in store
the SA was really annoying she automatically picked up YSL TE no 5 and wanted me to buy it
but I wanted to explore the new shades
bearing in mind that I have been using no 01 for the last many years without any problems says alot about the versatility of ysl te, it is an illuminator or a highlighter, it is sheer and gives very little coverage

I wanted to swatch all the shades but had to get away from the SA
I did tell her that ive been using no 01 and i still have 2 YSL TE's to finish
I agree that no 5 is a good match for me foundation wise but this is not a foundation is it ??
its a couple of mls and costs about £22 so I do not want this as a foundation !
no 5 is exactly like mac nc30 shade , bobbi brown warm beige/natural

my personal opinion is that the following shades
no 1 is universal sheer opalaecent mother of pearl
no 1.5 is perfect for -nc20
no  2 is perfect nc20+
no 3 is perfect for NC30+ asian mediteranean skin tones
and no 5 is perfect nc40+ olive darker skin tones
no 6 is perfect nc/nw 50+ afro caribbean, black skintones but with less red
no 7 again above nc/nw 50+ again black skintones but possibly red based
no 8 where available is supposed to be good for nc40 too

Logically since i have been using no1 for so long I think I could get away with using all of the shades from no1 to no 3
but im really looking forward to trying possibly no2 but more than likely no 3 or even both

FYI- pics taken with iphone 4 5mp camera but in store lighting so my hand looks really ugly

I really hope that this helps

Swatches:- Mac match master foundation

Im really quite excited about this new foundation

I think I will be getting it very soon

However here are same shade swatches for light to medium skintones

Im usually a little lighter than NC30 but the swatches are on my hands which always catch alot of sun
so my hands are equivalent to nc40 for reference
which always makes me look like im borrowing someone elses hands

and I took the pics with my iphone 4 with flash on in store lighting
funnily it always makes my hands look brown but im happy that the swatches are showing true to life

Shades swatched from top to bottom
7.0
6.0
5.0
4.0
3.0
2.0

Ive blended the shades together here to give you an idea of texture
I think its quite thick and creamy but not sticky its quite smooth
and blends in very well
coverage is medium buildable

Feel free to ask any questions
Im very reader friendly

SWATCHES:- Mac Prep and prime fortified skin enhancer , highlighter, and matchmaster foundation

Mac Matchmaster foundation swatch in 3.0 equivalent to nc30 light/medium warm beige skintone

Mac Prep and prime highlighters
Light boost - medium skin tones
Bright forecast - darker skintones
Radiant Rose -fair to light skintones

Mac Prep and Prime fortified skin enhancers spf35
Illuminate - fair to light skin tones adds brightness
Neutralize -light to medium skintone or to rectify redness
Adjust - light to medium skintones
Recharge - darker skintones, or can help with grey ashy skintones

The texture of the fortifiers are quite similar to the recent mac prep and prime BB primer spf35

Have you tried any of these ??

XOXO

Swatches :- Smashbox face primers Collection

I have used most of smashbox's primers with the exception of the very new ones which launched in the uk in september 2011

Im really liking the new packaging too
The tube is so much more user friendly because the old pump dispensers kept failing to dispense
they were also made of glass which looked good on my vanity but are very heavy for travel

Smashbox then changed the packaging to the airless pump dispensers which looked very nice and quite matched the Smashbox healthy FX foundation bottles

I have swatched all of the primers with the one exception of the demaxyl spf15 which was abit watery in the store for some reason but not too worry it is very similar to the original primer in look and texture

Smashbox primers swatched above
Original primer
Light/ lite primer
Hydrating primer -NEW
Adjust primer -Green
Balance primer - lavendar, lilac, purple -NEW
Blend -peach
Luminizing - peachy gold -NEW

Most of the Smashbox primers have a silicone base
except for the light and hydrating primers

These are available at Debenhams and retail for between £29 - £31 depending on which one you choose and are 30ml each

For the time being Im trying to use up some of my other primers before I repurchase any of these
And im on a makeup buying ban for now since my collection is so huge I cant justify buying any more makeup for now :(

Are you using a Smashbox primer or are you preferring something else ??

XOXO

REVIEW:- MAC full coverage foundation

This is macs most heaviest duty foundation
ofcourse I had to try it out for myself

This foundation is solid hard
its even harder than studio tech foundation, and I thought that was hard.
the full coverage foundation is really pigmented
and you are at risk of looking like you are wearing a mask
I strongly suggest you go up a foundation shade on this foundation so that you dont look ghost like
I would say if I had to be 100% accurate I would be NC26 if it existed
NC25 is a touch light and NC27 is extremely pink so I often happily use NC30 or NC25 I even have mineralize satinfinish in NC40 to give me no makeup glowy summer tan look!
as my goto no nonsense shade as its  darker in winter and about right in summer or with some faux tan
The foundation has no spf although its so thick its going to create some sort of barrier but I always advise using atleast SPF15 all year round I use spf 25, 40, 50+ in summer
This foundation is best suited to people like me who have serious pigmentation and scars
if you only have a couple of marks use a concealer as this foundation will not be worth it as it will give you a cakey look

APPLICATION
best applied with a wet disposable sponge
as a brush will leave teeny tiny microscopic little hairy bits on the actual foundation
or apply to your face with fingers in small light dabs and smooth out with a damp brush
I say damp because you will get a smoother finish rather than a cakey look
or you can use this as a concealer on your face not on the under eyes area as using thick products will give you life long eye bags -A bag for life !! supermarket style!

under eye area should only be covered with special under eye concealer unless its a one off very special occasion ie your wedding, school, college, or uni picture days after exams etc

I cant remember exactly how much this costed but its a huge 28g which makes it totally worth it!

let me know if you've used this or if you know any other great coverage products that you feel that I should atleast try

REVIEW:- Revlon colorstay V Revlon Colorstay

Hehe its funny how Ill run out and buy something the day it launches yet it may take months or even a year to blog about it, well in my defence I like to get a true understanding of the product by using it long enough to really understand the products.

So here goes - Revlon has two varieties in the liquid colorstay foundation range, one is normal dry skin and the other oily combination, if you have alot of breakouts and very uneven skintone and scarring goto the oily combination. If you have dry skin or just normal skin with the odd spot here and there go for the normal dry option, both options are Oil-free. I think the oily option does not have or has very little spf where as the normal one has an spf of 15.
This foundation is a thick foundation and provides quite a high coverage, even more coverage in the oily option as it has more powder pigment.
This product is often compared to MACs studio fix fluid foundation.

To be honest as long as you are using the right skincare you can use either option to suit you as even the shades differ slightly between the two options.

This foundation only requires setting with a transparent powder, however it does dry matte.

I dislike that it does not come with a pump, but its suited to a sponge application so you turn it over on a sponge can be dry, or wet for more sheer coverage, and you will not have wastage and dripping as the bottle can get quite messy from turning and tipping.

REVLON PHOTOREADY makeup
This foundations screams out Chanel pro lumiere rip off which is a foundation made to look good in all lights, Lancome has now continued with this theory with their latest foundation.

Photoready comes in just the one formula which suits all skin types and is available in less shades I think 7? or something like that. Its much thinner and comes in (sound the trumpets) a pump

This is lighter in texture so its good for those who do not like the feel of a heavier makeup and it has sparkles in it, not huge chunks of glitter but think mac mineralize satinfinish foundation or peeking into a jar of opened bare escentuals mineral foundation.

it has a spf of 20 but bare in mind makeup SPF differs to a proper sunblock so dont expect to come home peachy toned after a day in the sun you will burn but it should last indoors with small trips outdoors ie a day at the office or college or daylong in cooler weather.

BTW incase you are interested -the shades above are suitable for someone between NC25 to NC30 in mac shades. ie light medium, asian golden yellow undertones.
If you are NC30 to NC35 try 06 medium beige.

but please swatch your face with no makeup on and go outside the shop with a mirror its better to look silly for a minute than looking stupid day after day.
I have been swatched in bad lighting at expensive counters like clinique and gone out in public looking pink or grey or a recent mac mis-swatch orange-can you say oompa loompa? yukh!

Some Raspcherry Gossip-
One girl in my office who is light skin toned much lighter than me used to powder her face with a cheap highstreet powder I think it was collection 2000 (nothing wrong with the powder itself) but it was the lightest shade and she kept powdering her face again and again and again.
Moral is if it was the right shade she would have only looked 50% bad not 100% bad.

I hope you found this useful
Im always happy to answer questions

please comment and subscribe

Which MAc foundation is best to use?

I have already said it a million times I dont recommend MAC foundations for daily useage, these products are created for makeup artist with effects in mind not really for daily useage though they may work for some people but many people complain about irritations and break outs

Above is not my complete collection of MAC foundations
I also have Face and body, Studio tech foundation, MAC full coverage foundation, Studio fix powder plus, Studio sculpt I gave away and Select moisture blend I finished.

The above pictured are my best recommendations for mac foundations

For All Skintypes
MAC select spf15 fluid foundation (pump purchased separately)
This is light medium coverage and has good incredients for your skin so hopefully you should not have skin problems with this
It goes nicely with Select loose powder
MAC- Select sheer loose powder
which is very fine and light and is not heavy, gives minimal coverage so the wrong colour can affect your foundation and skintone, will stop shine for about 4- hours depending on skin type but hold your foundation longer.
MAC Select Concealer - Gives moderate coverage yet does not cake, in a very hygienic tube and a very generous size so its good value for money.
MAC studio finish concealer -This is a thick and heavy solid concealer, it does give high coverage and has an SPF of 35 -Amazing! I like to carry this in my bag for touchups especially in summer as I have horribly sensitive skin which looks like typical brown asian skin but it burns like a white skin -so not fair!! The bad point is that this may melt and leak at high temperatures!
For dry skins
MAC mineralize Satin finish foundation -
this gives low coverage but its a shimmery mineral foundation -think Bare Escentuals mineral foundation
its specifically formulated for dry skins but it can be worn by anyone as its a light moussey formula.
This is also available in a new compact version now  which is just as nice and best for people on the go or prefer compacts.

If you want any reviews on any foundations etc -let me know
but remember to check the existing posts about these foundations in previous posts, probably listed under MAC or Foundations concealers and powders.

Thanx for stopping by and thanx for subscribing

New launch MAC Pro longwear spf10 foundation

A long-wear foundation that gives up to 15 hours of wear in any environmental condition. Lightweight and creamy, applies smoothly to provide sheer to medium coverage.  Even in hot and humid conditions, controls oil to keep skin fresh, natural and flawless. Provides everyday SPF protection.

Picture is taken from the mac website www.maccosmetics.co.uk

I would say that this foundation is compareable to the Bobbi brown Skin foundation so if you are looking for a dupe for that foundation this is a cheaper alternative by about £5 depending on where you are purchasing.

I would say this is best for an oily combination skin but if you know how to use products to your advantage then you can use anything.
This does not give a thick and heany coverage like the foundations from the studio range but it does not contain beneficial ingredients found in the select foundation either.

Let me know if you purchase this

REVIEW: Bobbi browns new Natural finish long lasting foundation

Information/description and picture from Bobbi brown :-
Oil-free, all-day wear so you’ll have soft-matte, even-looking skin without having to pile on powder throughout the day. Made with sponge-like powders absorb excess oil on the surface of the skin, while emollients lock in moisture to ensure skin remains perfectly balanced. Transfer-resistant formula helps create a barrier against heat and humidity for 8 hours of wear. Even in the most humid climates, makeup stays in place. And like all of Bobbi’s foundations, the shades are yellow-based for a natural look. Perfect for oily and normal/combination skin. Available in 16 Shades.

I have dry skin so this is not suitable for me so I only tested this for a few days
I definitely recommend this to anyone with normal to oily skin
the oilyer the better
this stuff really adheres to your face even without a primer
if you have very oily skin use over a hydrating serum or a gel moisturiser
I put this on early and it lasted until really late
one layer will give you medium coverage
it is a thicker texture and dries fast
it is matte enough to not need additional powder

I hope this helps you if you were interested in this foundation
