Benefit Puff off eye gel to help smooth the look of puffs

Im sure everyone has noticed that my biggest beauty problem is probably my puffy eyes. I always, always, always seem to have puffy eyes now and I'm not sure why. I have tried practically every product available for puffy eyes over the years including some extremely expensive vey high end products, which I will probably review shortly for you if you want me to.

This post however is for benefits new Puff off instant eye gel.
I've had it for almost a week now, I managed to order one for myself pre-launch online.
I will do a more thorough review shortly but heres my first thought on the product.

Packaging
Ofcourse all of benefits products come in pretty unique packaging, this eye gel also comes in a quirky tube with a little iron shaped foot to smooth out puffs. The tube itself is really dinky and comes in a small cardboard box containing a leaflet.

Product
Puff off comes in a 10ml size which is a third less than a standard eye product which are normally 15ml so that was quite disappointing, the gel is a light baby pink white sheeny shade if that makes sense lol. the formula to me is more silicone than gel so this will be great for disguising lines rather than puffiness, the iron shaped tip is quite cooling and refreshing though I haven't experienced a completely deputed eye yet and mines are the puffiest!

Price
At just over twenty pounds I wouldn't say this is cheap especially as its only 10ml in size, but if it does make my puffy eyes 'puff off' over a longer term period I would say its worth it, however I will have to keep you tuned for those results as I'm still waiting myself as I've not had immediate results sadly.

Availability
The puff off will be available shortly at all of Benefits retailers soon, I think it will be at the end of the month or the start of february 2015 in all of the usual Benefit retailers here, here, here.,here and here.

I have used all of the traditional methods for puffy eyes and I've not had any spectacular results using any of cold spoons, cucumbers, tea bags, arnica gel, gel eye masks, if you have extreme puffy eyes and you have found a product that works for you please do share!! I'll love you forever!! I promise!!

As always thank you for stopping by,
I love you all

New in :- Benefit little love potions

Im loving these gorgeous goodies from Benefit in dinky little travel sizes

Since I have such a huge makeup collection its not economical for me to have full sizes of all the products I like at all times.
sets like this make my life so much easier so in this way I can eat my cake and have it :)
I know thats really cheeky but its true!

The set includes the following items
 -Its potent eye cream
-High beam highlighter
-Posie tint stain
-Stay dont stray eye primer
-That gal brightening face primer
-The porefessional face primer
-Watts up highlighter
-Hoola bronzing powder
-Hoola lipgloss
-Badgal lash mascara

(alot of highlighting and brightening products!)

These products are going to make great handbag/travel products for me, they also make great trial products if you are unsure of buying the full size as the set is just under £30 which is near enough the amount for one benefit product which are usually around the £20 mark give or take.

Currently I have my eyes on the complete Benefit flawless range which I have used items from in the past but im thinking of getting the whole kit and kaboodle - the Flawless primer, foundation, fake it concealer, and flawless powder. But Im just procrastinating since Im putting myself on a shopping ban as I need to use up current items before I allow myself to buy anymore products for now.
(I'll see how long that lasts!)

Which benefit products are you loving right now?

BirchBox UK edition

Was it BirchBox that started the whole monthly beauty box subscription service in the USA?
I really think it was, And then in the UK we had services like Glossybox and Joliebox, well now Joliebox has been bought by the american birchbox.

My first ever BirchBox january 2013

In my box

Wei white lotus moisture rich eye blend 2ml sample
Tea pigs tummy tonic caffeine free tea bag
Fresh sugar rose tinted lip treatment spf15 2.2g
Kms free shape quick blow dry 30ml
Taaj paris hand cream 30ml

Im hoping that I will be able to try out some more international brands that are not available in the UK through my monthly birchbox.

Im most excited about
The fresh sugar lip treatment since its raved about by various bloggers. its a cute dinky purse friendly size, its rose tinted and I love everything roses, btw I thought ill just put it out there that it screws open and shut rather than a standard lipstick or lip balm.

Tea pigs tummy tonic sample, my sample is a standard peppermint which is great for detoxing and as an after dinner drink i wish there were a few different flavours to try out.

Im equally happy about the wei eye cream as I'm always looking for a good eye cream now that I've crossed 30, I always use my GHDs so I'm always happy to use anything that would enhance their effect such as the KMS quick blow dry. The Taaj hand cream is also nice to have and try.

I would love to know what you got in your birch box now uk or usa !

Or you can check out the UK birchbox here

First GlossyBox of 2013

January 2013 edition

This box is labelled as the detox box. I don't think that the items in the box completely fit that label except for the face exfoliator and face mask.

 Contents of my box

Duck Island Body lotion
Monu Aromatic mask
Elemis skin glow exfoliating face wash
Jason lips bee healthy
Paul Mitchell super strong daily shampoo
Glossy box 'glossy dreams' eye mask

Im most excited about  the elemis exfoliator as I love elemis products from their high end range and wanted to try something from this younger skin range too.

Im also really glad to receive the eye mask as i was planning on buying a new one since all of mines have gone for walks and have still not returned! I really need these as I'm a complete insomniac and they can sometimes help me to fall asleep quicker.

And of course the paul mitchell shampoo, I do use some paul mitchell products currently from the skinny range, the only thing is I'm extremely OCD about using matching products especially when it comes to shampoo and conditioner, it would have been nice to have received both of them even f that meant half sizes of each.

You can checkout the UK glossybox here

Do you use any of these items?
What did you get in your glossybox this month?

A look inside my october Joliebox 2012

JolieBox October 2012

My package arrived yesterday, and I could not wait to share the contents of this months box with you.
Although its too early to actually fully review the products I still wanted to share my first impression thoughts with you.

In the box
Ritessens velvet face cleanser
Nice big full size product from a brand ive never heard from but would be interested to try this, I hope I like i since it is so big.

Lov organic tea in 'lov is beautiful'
Im actually very interested in trying these scandinavian tea bags.  they're very premium quality tea bags, the bags are actually made of muslin, and although I hate standard black tea, And I think that white tea tastes like sh**.
This tea is a combination of white tea, green tea, and red tea aka redbush/rooibos tea (I love both green tea and red tea) and they also contain pieces of fruit which sounds delicious.

Jason Bee healthier lip balm stick
it seems to be just another lip balm but made with natural ingredients with aloe vera which is known to be very soothing, beeswax which is very softening/moisturising and the best thing is that the first or main bulk ingredient is actually cocoa butter. maybe its not just an ordinary lipbalm afterall, I guess a person can never have too many lipbalms!

Balance me daily essentials balancing facial moisturiser
this is a small but decent 10ml moisturiser suitable for normal combination skin.
it is made from 99% natural ingredients, I think its somewhat of a nice but normal moisturiser so I will put this aside for travel or until a later date since im trying to use up current open products.

Moa the green balm
this is a cute little dinky jar, is a multi purpose balm that is made from 100% natural ingredients. I have received this in a previous Joliebox and its nice for lips and cuticles and is soo tiny it can even fit in the tiniest of purse or wallet and its very unisex with its simple packaging and fresh natural smell. This would also be nice to use on small children and babies. It reminds me of Liz Earle superbalm. My favourite use for this product is on cuticles since i have my hands in and out of water as a very busy mum.

Do you use any of these products?
What did you get in your JolieBox ?

A look inside my September Joliebox

Inside my Sepember 2012 JolieBox

Balmi coconut flavour lipbalm
This reminds me of EOS lipbalm because of the way it looks and coconut cookies because of the way it smells, It comes with an attachment to attach onto a mobile phone but as i have an iphone i cant do this but I am thinking of attaching it to my keys or I'll just leave it as it is.

I love... Strawberry face mask
I will probably use this when I have some girly me-time.

Redken Align 12 protective straightening lotion
Ive always loved Redken hair products so im always happy to receive moisturising and straightening hair products and especially happy whe they are from brands such as Redken.

Twistbands
I received two of these one in red and one in orange, I personally tend to stick to black or brown hair bands and clips but i was interested to try these bands because they are specially made to not leave a ponytail dent in your hair. I used this in the same way that you would use a hairband (also tried other ways) but I found it still bent and dented my hair, but I do have exceptionally thick, voluminous hair ohh and its long too!

Dr Bragi marine exfoliant
two teeny tiny samples in clear sachets, I'll be keeping these for travel.

My Current SkinCare Routine - Face

I generally have very dry skin but Ive learned to make it normal combination but
My Skin had been behaving really badly in October, I used to have about 1 breakout or spot in a year throughout my teens and about once a month in more recent years due to time of the month etc if you know what I mean.
Then in november i felt it was time to go back to basics or Back to Clinique in my case to sort out this problem.

But rathe than going out Shopping, I decided to go through my inventory and I found everything I needed and more.
BTW Im considering doing A Beauty-Buy-Ban! Because I have way too much beauty products!
And I did not post up this years birthday haul which was as huge as last years birthday haul
I have had a request to put it up so I will hopefully do that soon.

On to the skincare and my current routine
I have left out some products which are my add ons for when and if needed but these products are the ones that im mainly using on a daily basis.

MakeUp Removal
Clinique Take the day off makeup remover for lids, lashes and lips.
I soak a little cotton pad with this to remove the most of my eye makeup, and lips if im wearing a strong colour.  Or if Im wearing alot of makeup I will use my own home blended Cleansing Oil.
Or I might use one of my trusty no7 quick thinking wipes instead.
Cleansing
I use the Clinique liquid facial soap mild with a liz earle muslin cloth, or no7 cleansing sponge Exfoliate
I use my cleanser with Cliniques manual exfoliating brush or my Tresonic ( Clarisonic dupe) or use the Clinique 7 day scrub cream. I do this once a week or every other day depending on the condition of my skin.
Toner
I use Clinique Clarifying lotion in mild or no 1 on a cotton pad in circular motions all over my face avoiding eyes and lips (as pictured above) Im not a big fan of toner, I prefer splashing lots of water or spritzing some liz earle instant boost skin tonic but right now im on a clinique 3 step routine.
Serum
Im currently using Avene eau thermale spring water soothing serum to keep my skin soothed and hydrated. I apply 1 pump all over my cleansed and toned face.
Eyes
Im trying to use up my final supply of prescriptives super line preventor for eyes, eye cream otherwise Ill use Clinique all about eyes eye cream
Moisturiser'S'
I apply a tiny bit of Clinique dramatically different gel or lotion all over my face and neck
Because I suffer from dry flaky skin I apply a teeny touch of Clinique Moisture surge extra thirsty skin relief to my nose and any other dry patches or I will apply Decleor Aromessence  oil instead.
Then I use Clinique Superdefence Moisturiser spf25 for dry skin all over my face and neck to give additional moisturisation and sun protection even in winter.
Lips
Clinique all about lips or Clinique superbalm moisturising gloss or decleor lipbalm or Gale Hayman lip lift or any other lipbalm I happen to grab hold of.

There are other bits and bobs, and other products that Im using but this is the main or the most of it, If you want to know what else im using, just let me know and I'll post that up too.

I have been on this routine for a couple of weeks now and my skin is doing well :)

And thats it for my skincare and then Im ready for my Makeup routine which will start from either primer or tinted moisturiser or both.

I hope this was helpful or interesting, I'd love to know what your using and what works for you regardleess of your skin type or age.

XOXO

Review Smashbox lip perfectors

I absolutely love these 2 products
they are both tried, tested and approved by me
so i had to do a review on them for you
I am sure there are alot of people out there looking for good skincare lip care products
both of these products are unisex as they are not makeup and the packaging is very gender friendly

This is the Smashbox lip scrub it is called emulsion lip exfoliant and retails for £15.50 at debenhams
I believe it is made of all natural ingredients and is super lip safe and delicious to use
It is said to contain vitamins and soothing conditioners
it is sugar based and has a peppermint taste and contains tiny little poppy seeds  to exfoliate as well as the actual sugar
It also contains shea butter, cocoa butter and jojoba to nourish the lips
My preffered way to use this is before brushing teeth as it also protects your lips from the toothpaste
I then scuff it off

This is the smashbox lip balm it is called lip treatment and retails for £15.50 at debenhams
This lip balm is the perfect daytime lip treatment as it not only moisturises but also protects your lips with an spf15,
This lip treatment contains all of my favourite nourishing ingredients including
Shea butter, mango butter, jojoba, and avacado,  chamomile and honey, also anti oxidants and vitamin A C E  -doesnt that sound delicious ??

this has been my preferred lip base for a very long time as its not greasy at all its just very comforting and makes a great base for lip colour

Unfortunately i am out of stock of both of these items as i really need to use up other things I have bought, but i really look forward to buying these again

These 2 are definitely my holy grail lip perfectors and lip base

Have you tried these, or do you use something similar ??

Affordable eye makeup remover

Highstreet eye makeup removers for super heavy makeup

So you have probably realised that although Im a neutral makeup girl but I love to be creative and express myself with bold and beautiful colour combinations
I find that cleansing alone is not enough to remove makeup so I use a makeup remover first
I find that as most makeup is on my eyes, makeup remover wipes are super convenient to remove all traces of makeup before cleansing and moisturising.
I find makeup wipes are good for occasional use but for more frequent use I prefer proper cleansing. Nothing beats the refreshing feeling of a cleansed face !

Johnsons priced about £4
I think there are about 20 in the tub
these smell nice,
and are super luxurious each pad is almost like this velour pads you can use for powder makeup application.
they are impregnanted with an oily eye makeup remover solution
you are supposed to use 1 pad per eye but I snip them in half to make them ther perfect shape to cover my lid, I let the solution saturate my makeup and then I get impatient and rub the makeup off -lol!

at £4 they are still affordable but theres another product I have found that beats these value wise.

Boots eye makeup remover pads
these are cheap as chips I think they are less than £2 and you get 40 pads
they are small and thin and have alot of oily solution on them
it is best if you use one on each eye however if you want to save money you can flip the pad over and use the other side if you are not wearing too much makeup.

Thanx for subscribing

Avene Eau thermale and Roc skincare review

So you all know that I am 'The Dry Skin Diva'
My skin is sooooo sensitive.
I will share my opinion and thoughts on all of the products I use to maintain healthy skin.

I first used these products whilst having a majorly sensitised skin.
I purchased these products from Boots.

Each product retails at between £10-£15 pounds

The products are -
-Avene Eau Thermale extremely gentle cleanser
no rinse tissue off formula, can be used on all skin types -even on the most red sensitised and irritated or spotty skin, dry or oily skin.

-Avene Eau Thermale spring water soothing serum for sensitive skin
this costs about £15 and is so soothing and cooling and hydrating on the skin I even use this when my skin is not sensitised, this can even be used in place of moisturiser for additional hydration for example if you are using a 3 in 1 product on your face ie a tinted moisturiser with spf. I use between 1 to 3 pumps, 1 at a time until my skin feels quenched.

you can use the matching Avene eau thermale moisturiser which comes in different concentrations for different skin types and has an SPF.

But as I had a £5 voucher for ROC I tried a similar moisturiser which also comes in different intensities for different skin types

ROC Hydra + Bio Active anti oxidant Bio moisturising cream spf15 -dry skin option
I have seen alot of advertising for this product so I was glad to try it out, I definitely like this, it comes in a hygienic tube so If your problem is bacterial spots you wont contaminate the rest of the formula. its a nice consistency and smells nice and it is definitely moisturising and soothing. again Im happy to use this even when Im not sensitised.

I also used the following three products

Avene eau thermale spf50 face sunblock
Avene childrens sunblock spray
Avene eau thermale facial spritz

all were fine however I noted that I had to apply the baby sunblock 10 times in a three hour drive and I still got really tanned, but this is good as I have such sensitive skin I dont tan naturally I burn so badly I get all red and crusty ewwwwww

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge -My collection, a review and swatches.

Ive always had a special place for cream products, they're usually my goto in a rush, as a busy busy mum. And as a summer product. On...
